What to Expect During a Professional Color Analysis Session

Curious about what happens during a professional color analysis? At Color Lab STL, your session includes an introduction to color theory, professional color draping, and personalized guidance on how to use your seasonal palette.

Here's what to expect during your appointment.

1. An Introduction to Color Analysis

We'll start by going over the basics of color analysis, including undertones, contrast, and color harmony.

We'll explain how different colors interact with your natural features and what we'll be looking for during your analysis.

No prior knowledge of color theory is needed!

2. Professional Color Draping

Next, we'll begin the draping process.

We'll place different colored fabrics near your face, comparing shades side by side to see how they interact with your skin tone, eyes, and hair.

You'll get to see the differences for yourself as we explain which colors complement your natural features and why.

Through this process, we'll identify your seasonal color palette.

3. Understanding Your Seasonal Palette

Once we've determined your season, we'll go over your results and how to use them.

We'll walk you through the colors that work best for you, along with recommendations for clothing, makeup, hair color, and accessories.

You'll learn how to incorporate your seasonal palette into your everyday wardrobe and personal style.

What Happens After Your Color Analysis?

Once your session is complete, you'll have your seasonal color guide and digital color wallet to reference whenever you need them.

You can use your palette when shopping for clothes, choosing makeup shades, picking out accessories, or deciding which colors to add to your wardrobe.

And don't worry, discovering your color season doesn't mean you need to get rid of everything in your closet! Your results are simply a guide to help you understand which colors complement your natural features and how to incorporate them into your personal style.

How to Prepare for Your Color Analysis Session

There's very little you need to do before your appointment.

For the most accurate results, we recommend arriving with little to no makeup so your natural coloring is visible during the draping process.

You'll also want to avoid self-tanner and heavily tinted skincare products before your session.

There's nothing specific you need to bring, and you're welcome to bring a guest along!
